The Unforgettable Song

It was like visiting her own past once more, The same melody that she had listened to that lonely night, in Paris, was about to be played. She could not believe she had enough courage to go to that concert, but there she was. A long and black dress accompanied by pearls in her neck, watery eyes, and a burning red lipstick covering her mouth. Her invitation was folded a million times before she had said yes.

A very tall and young man entered the stage. He was dressed in white clothes, and he had a red rose in his hands. The audience was staring at him and waiting for his next action. Before playing his repertoire, he got on his knees, and he started to cry. Not more than 30 seconds later, he stood up and left the red rose in the center of the stage.

The melody started as beautiful as she could remember, but the pianist was not the same. The young man would never play so perfectly like his father; however, he was doing a great performance. All the audience was moved by the way he was playing. It was aggressive and nostalgic at the same time. She started to applaud before the song was over.He stopped playing. She stopped applauding.

The young pianist stared at her while she she was walking in his direction. She gave him a red rose and she whispered two or three short sentences. He looked for a microphone immediately. She began to sing "La vie en rose". Everyone felt touched during her performance.

Music is said to be a universal language, and that night even not knowing what was the meaning of the red roses and what were the words the woman said to the young pianist, everyone could understand the power of music. Sometimes a melody can talk more than a thousand of explanations. That was the most beautiful and fascinating concert I have ever been to. All the possible feelings and sensations were experienced that night.
